Stage 6: Manchester to Warrington

For the Manchester to Warrington route, we recommend making full use of the Bridgewater Canal.

Leave Manchester city centre through the university district and the long, straight and easy-to-follow Stretford Road and Talbot Road past Old Trafford Cricket Ground, before joining the Bridgewater Canal towpath at Stretford.

The well-maintained towpath along the Bridgewater Canal will take runners out of Manchester and to the other side of Altrincham, where they can join the Trans Pennine Trail right through to Warrington.

At just over 30km and with a total climb of just over 10m, this is both the shortest and the flattest of the Beer Coaster stages.
